Three Prayerful Tips for Healing at Home with God 🫂
Share
There is healing and strength in the church, but the quiet comfort of home can also be ideal for connecting with God. During the most challenging time in my life, I was able sought God in the solitude of the mornings, before my children woke and the day started. It was there that I found Him-- or rather, He found me. Or both.
Here are three prayerful tips to help you create a sacred space for healing and spiritual growth at home.
1. Start Your Day with Scripture
Begin your day by immersing yourself in the Word of God. Grab your favorite mug, brew a fresh cup of coffee or tea, and spend time reading a chapter or verse. Pray for understanding and guidance and ask the Holy Spirit to come into you. This quiet time of reflection and connection with God sets the tone for the day.Â
2. Get Creative - Dive into Bible Journaling
Explore your creativity and deepen your relationship with God through bible journaling. Gel bible highlighters are wonderful and satisfying. You can turn your Bible into a beautiful rainbow, reminiscent of God's sacred covenant. I like to use different color highlighters when I reread Scripture, always finding something new that sticks out to me!
You can also create a scrapbook or take a notebook or journal and express your thoughts, prayers, and questions through text and art, including paint, stickers, stamps, clippings, dried flowers...
Use this time to meditate on scripture, reflect on your faith journey, and pour out your heart to God. Bible journaling can be a therapeutic way to engage with the word of God.
3. Set the Ambiance for Spiritual Connection
Create a serene and sacred space in your home to foster a deeper connection with God. Keep your surroundings organized and clean to promote a sense of peace and tranquility. Enhance the ambiance by lighting candles, playing soft music, or using Christian meditation or bible reading apps. These little touches can help you feel closer to God and create a space for prayer, reflection, and spiritual growth.
By incorporating these prayerful tips into your daily routine, you can cultivate a sense of healing, peace, and spiritual connection at home. Remember that God is always with you, ready to offer comfort, guidance, and love in every moment.
