How to Repurpose Your Candle Vessels in 3 Easy Steps đź«™

One of the best parts about buying beautiful candles is that the vessel doesn’t have to go to waste once the wax is gone. Here’s the simplest, safest way to clean out your vessel and get it ready for reuse.

1. Give Your Candle a Warm Bath

Start by placing your finished candle in the sink and surrounding it with warm to safely hot water. Don’t pour boiling water directly into the vessel—instead, let the heat from the water around it gently warm the jar. As the candle warms up, the remaining wax will soften and loosen from the sides, making it easy to remove later.

2. Scoop the Wax — Never Put It Down the Drain

Once the wax has loosened, carefully scoop it out with a spoon or silicone spatula and discard it in the trash. Never put wax down your sink drain—wax hardens as it cools and can clog plumbing quickly.

3. Wash, Rinse, and Dry

When the vessel is mostly free of wax, wash it with warm, soapy water just like you would a dish. Rinse well, dry completely, and it’s ready for its next life! You can now repurpose it as a plant pot, bathroom organizer, desk accessory, or anything your creativity imagines.

Repurposing your candle vessels not only reduces waste but also gives you beautiful, functional pieces for your home. Plus—it’s incredibly satisfying to transform something you love into something new.
