A Creative's Candlelight Prayer ✍️🎨🕯️

In the silence of cold mornings, after my toes leave the nest of blankets to meet the chilly hardwoods, and I scurry through the darkness to turn on the coffee pot, I hear You, God.

Before the devices switch on and the demands of the world begin, before light illuminates the horizon, I hear Your steady, gentle call.

By quiet candlelight and steamy coffee, I am free to immerse myself in Your word and embrace Your connection.

I stand in awe of the great Creator. You grabbed hold of the void and formed it into an intricate and majestic Universe of colors, sound, and light.

What was your inspiration, O Lord? For love of children You had not yet created, You broke the nothingness and birthed stars and wonders. You caused life to spring forth.

And as I sit in quiet darkness, before the loud of the world seeks to drown out Your voice, I find my own desire to create beauty.

Just as You took the silence and birthed the heavens and the earth, I will take the quiet of the mornings and make something of it.

I stand in awe of You, God, and I need Your inspiration when I desperately long to create. Make me like You. Make me a creator to bring glory to Your Name. 

And while You fill me with inspiration, continue Your work on my heart, so that all things that flow through me emulate the goodness of Your works. 

Give me the fortitude to bring life to my projects and see them through, just as You breathed life into me and continue to mold me.
